Urgent Issue

For people that require an AHC as soon as possible

Do you need an AHC Urgently?

We can generally provide pet owners with an Urgent Issue AHC on the same day if they have been refused travel at the Eurotunnel Terminal or the Port of Dover because of incorrect documents or if pet owners require an AHC faster than our Standard Service.

Please Note: The fee for the Urgent Service is £199 for the first pet.

Three Steps to requesting your Urgent AHC

STEP 1: Download the Request Form – CLICK HERE and fill in all the details. Please note that all the fields of your pet’s description are required.
This is a .pdf form that you can use with most devices
and then email to us. If you are having trouble, you can download the free Acrobat Reader app for your device from the following links:

ANDROID       APPLE        WINDOWS

STEP 2: Decide what rabies vaccination and microchip evidence you will submit. If you (and not your vet) are submitting the evidence, take good quality pictures/scans of all the documents. Check the pictures yourself before sending to ensure you can clearly read all the writing. Below are the types of evidence we can use to issue an AHC.

Clinical History

You need to contact the veterinary surgery that administered the rabies vaccine and request that they email your pet’s Clinical History. This is probably the easiest and most straightforward way to verify your pet’s Identity and Rabies Vaccination status

The Clinical History must state that your pet’s microchip was scanned and confirmed at the time they received the rabies vaccine and it must also include the details of the vaccine (manufacturer, brand name, batch number and date it was administered). This is essential information.

Clinical History MUST be emailed directly to us from your vet to: urgent@ahc.online

We are unable to accept Clinical History if it has not been emailed directly to us from the veterinary surgery

Previously Issued AHC

If you have an Animal Health Certificate that was previously issued by us or issued elsewhere and the rabies vaccine entered in the AHC is still in-date, we can use this AHC to verify your pet’s Identity and Rabies Vaccination status.

Please email clear and in-focus pictures of pages 1, 4, 8 & 9 to: urgent@ahc.online

UK Pet Passport

Pet Passports should show an in-date rabies vaccine.

For UK Pet Passports issued after 2014 please email pictures of pages 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8. For UK Pet Passports that was issued before the end of 2014, please email pictures of pages 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.

All Pet Passport rabies vaccination entries must be certified with at least the Vet’s Name; The Vet’s Signature; The Practice Address; The Practice Telephone Number. You will see this instruction written along the spine of the vaccine page in the Passport – If the vet is an Official Veterinarian it should also include their SP number.

If you have a non-UK Pet Passport and it contains the details of an in-date rabies vaccination, please email clear and in-focus pictures of the pages that include: Owner’s Details, Pet’s Details, Pet Identification, Rabies Vaccination
to: urgent@ahc.online

Rabies Vaccination Certificate

Many veterinary clinics have started issuing “Microchip Reading & Rabies Vaccination Certificates” and they contain all the essential information required to issue an AHC. If your vet has provided you with one of these documents, please ensure that:

a) it shows the Owner’s details and the pets’ details (incl. microchip number)

b) it clearly states that the microchip was scanned & verified at the time of vaccination.

c)it shows the rabies vaccine details, including manufacturer, brand and batch number

d) it has been certified by the vet with all of the following; 1. the Practice stamp; 2. The vet’s name clearly written; 3. The vet’s signature.

If the certificate does not contain A,B,C & D we are unable to accept this document

Vaccination Card

We can only accept vaccination cards if the Rabies Vaccination entry on the card is correctly certified – the vaccine entry MUST contain the following information:

A. The Practice Stamp

B. The Vet’s Name clearly written

C. The Vet’s Signature

D. A statement written by the vet that the “microchip verified” and the date this was done.

Please note that A,B,C,D must be entered immediately next to the Rabies Vaccination Entry on the card.

If the certificate does not contain A,B,C & D we are unable to accept this document

Vets’ Declaration

If all else fails, our Declaration Form contains all the required information for issuing an AHC.

Your vet can complete the form and then certify it by adding their full name, practice stamp and signature.

Please note that your vet may charge a fee to complete this document, so please enquire about this first (you can avoid this fee by asking your vet to send us the clinical record instead).

You can download the form here.

STEP 3:  Send us your request as described below.

Please ensure you have read and understood the guidelines for the documents you are planning to email and you have read the FAQs and you understand what is required before emailing your request for an AHC, as incorrect documents will delay your request. Please also ensure you have read and understand our collection days and times as we are unable to provide AHCs outside of the days and times stated.

Please Note: The fee for the Urgent Issue Service is £199 for the first pet
